Power in Christ

Hey Everybody,

I just wanted to encourage you all with a quick devotional to remind us of the power we have through Christ. It's so easy to get distracted and forget the promises of God. For some, this may be a reminder; and then for others, you may have not been aware of this (or even thought about it). Either way, here it is:

For sin will not rule over you, because you are not under law but under grace.

Romans 6:14

Remember a time when you felt completely powerless to a particular sin. You felt defeated and like you had nothing left. The fight you once had slowly escaped and you start to wonder how. How will I do this? How will I find the strength to do that? How can I let this sin go?!

What would you do if I told you that you already had all the strength you needed?

When Jesus died for us, He died for our sins as well. We no longer have to be a victim to our sins. When He died for us, He took away all of the power that sin has over us. Yes, the sin still exist; however, it's the power that it has over us that was destroyed; it no longer has power over us. The key word was "no longer has power over us." The next time you feel victim to sin, remember the power and authority you have over it through Jesus Christ. You can overcome the sin you struggle with, you have more power than you realize you do. You have the power to be set free from it. For who the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36). Jesus already took care of that when He went to the cross! It doesn't take too much but to believe you've already been set free from it. Just start walking in what you believe that deliverance looks like. Start practicing your strut (;

Remember it's because of Jesus Christ that we get to walk in grace,
