What does your plowing season look like?
HI, Everybody!
I hope you all are doing well today 😊 If you've been keeping up with my social posts, you would already know that I have been doing #30DaysofGrace, which is my way of taking 30 days, leading up until Christmas Day, to share with you all whatever the Lord has placed on my heart to share. There has been testimonies, mini-devotionals, gleanings from my life experiences...the Lord even had me talking a lot of relationship throughout this time, as well!
Today, I wanted to share my post from Day 26. Enjoy! 😊
"'What does your plowing season look like? What are you needing to plow in this season?'
As we are preparing to end the year, I have been heavily considering the season that I am in and how it relates to what God is looking to do in my life this upcoming year.
According to Wikipedia, when farming, plowing is, “a tool or farm implement used for initial cultivation to loosen or turn the soil in preparation for sowing seed or planting.” A farmer plows in order to prepare or lay the foundation of what he or she is getting ready to plant sow. It is preparation.
This is the season I find myself in this December…one of preparation, and I have a feeling that I am not alone. That you too, may find yourself in a season of preparation, as well, as we’re closing out this year.
You see, I happen to believe that the Lord is preparing me for the harvest that He is getting ready to release in 2020; however, He can’t release the harvest on unprepared or untilled (not plowed, unbroken, or prepared) ground. There has to be a pathway created for Him to plant what it is that He is looking to plant; in other words, the ground has to be tilled as we close out 2019 in order to actually see what it is that He is looking to plant and release in 2020.
So, for me, my plowing season has been spent with me learning to discern and obey the voice of the Lord in new territory—in a fresh and new way. Though it has taken some trial and error, I am learning to trust what it is that HE has so intricately place in me to do…To trust the guidance He has placed in my heart & follow in confidence and in obedience in Him, and not in myself.
So, I ask again: What does your season of plowing consist of? What kind of obedience does it require of you?"
